Partner TantsuTM

In traditional Tantsu practitioners begin with moves that gradually build up the trust needed for clients to benefit from powerful whole body holds and stretches. Now to make those benefits available to everybody, Harold, with the help of Amber Seitz, has developed a new form of Tantsu for partners, family and freinds who share the level of trust needed to start with Tantsu’s most powerful holds. Since these holds are also the easiest to maintain, this new Tantsu can be learned by anyone without effort.

A Partner TantsuTM Session

You begin comfortably supported on cushions. One leg is under your partner’s head. Your other is between their legs wrapped around their base. Holding their whole body to you, breathing and movement join. Rocking alternates with chakra holding. Stillness follows the release of waves up the back. Gentle touches such as those on the face interweave with powerful rotations and stretches braced by your body. Throughout this and the holds that follow you maintain support at the base.

Tantsu’s unique power

Support at the base is constant throughout Partner Tantsu (and the last half of most professional sessions). The base is where we drop into the emptiness at the bottom of the breath, where the flow of our meridians, the resonance of our chakras, and the wave that is that resonance flowing, all originate. And it is the place where everything returns. Tantsu’s sacred support grounds us while Tantsu’s whole body containment becomes the peace that surrounds and invites us to rediscover in our heart our oneness.

Learning TantsuTM

In the first 3 hours students learn a sequence of powerful core moves while comfortably cradling someone between their legs. Learned by itself in a Whole Body Hold class, students can give 20 minute Tantsus to partners or friends. Learned as the first part of a weekend, additional core moves are added in 3 more holds. Then the whole core is expanded in a way that ensures our body stores the memory of it without stress and students can give complete Partner Tantsu sessions. Classes include guided movement meditations that help us access and understand the energies being shared.
